In lieu of a goodie bag I'm making a single party favor for each guest. I had a hard time coming up with something good for a party favor. Ultimately I decided to make chocolate lollipops, I love making treats so why not just make the kids something. There's no need for little, cheap toys. I mean xmas is in a week and they'll all be getting great toys. So I made up my mind and moved forward.
I have never worked with Candy Melts by Wilton but have seen so many people who have used them and all their treats turn out looking delicious! Let me clarify that I am by no means a candy expert, experience baker, chocolatier what have you. I'm just a mom who likes to experiment in the kitchen with making sweets!
Once all the melts were, well, melted it was time to start painting on the first layer of color. I limited my color palette to the four colors otherwise this could have quickly gotten out of control.
Once the molds were filled they looked like this and were ready for some cold chillin' in the fridge.
Once the chocolate was set up, they lolli's easily popped out of their molds and I wrapped them in some cellophane bags. I think they turned out pretty darn cute! I think the kids will enjoy these lolli's and have fun using them as little masks!
I was able to find everything I needed at Michaels in Beaverton and I'm sure any and every Michaels will sell all these supplies as well.
