I was reading Xinh's blog and noticed that on Tuesday she posted an entry entitled "10 Occupations You Wanted To Be When You Were Young," fun! I want to do it too. So, here it goes, in no particular order:

1. Cinematographer (at the time I don't know if I even really knew what that was, but it sounded good)
2. Furniture Designer
3. Clothing Designer
4. Public Relations
5. Graphic Desinger (what I actually got my BFA in)
6. Specialty Design-y Boutique Owner
7. Producer

Wow I can only think of 7, and most of these all came into my head sometime between Jr. High and 10th grade. I didn't really think of occupations, like a nurse or doctor or whatever when I was a small kid. What I do now is a far cry from what I do now. My inner design geek is still aching to get out, but as Raul says, I don't want to do it for The Man.

T is off to Toronto on Monday. I didn't get much notice on this trip but I'll deal since its just a few days. He's so lucky I renewed and expedited processing of our passports. I'm still working on the kids passports but am waiting on the freakin' state department to hurry up and send copies of the kids birth certificates. I have the forms ready to go. Since there are no trans-atlantic trips in the super near future i'm not super concerned but still, I want to get the application in sooner rather then later.

I've been going to the gym twice per week. I have a gym parnter in Jolie and its real nice to have her for that extra motiviation on days I'm feeling a tad bit lazy. Since I've been trying ot shake this cough I'm taking it real easy and only walking on the treadmill for 30-minutes. Hopefully next week I can resume the weight training portion of my routine. I've come to the conclusion that I enjoy going to the gym. I really, really do. It's relaxes me at the end of the day. By the time I get the kids I'm relatively calm and stress free. I've finally passed the day-after achy phase of my working out, althought that little bit of burn the next day was oddly exhilirating. I'm still hoping to take a Pilates class in the near future. There's a cute little studio in Kenneth Village and private lessons are a bit on the steep side but it'll be worth it to get on the "contraptions."

In about about 3.5-weeks Jen and Shawn will be in town. I'm a bit excited. Jen and I are planning a downtown excursion. Normally I dread downtown (blame my mom, she takes hours upon hours down there) but Jen showed some interest so I'm being a good friend and taking her and there's no harm picking up a few goodies for myself . We're both so excited about the shopping extravaganza. In my opinion the boys should stay home cause they will hate it. Well I know T hates it and occassionally will tolerate it if it's only for an hour or two.

For the first time in a long time both the cars are super clean. We're so bad at getting the cars washed. T took the SUV for a hand car wash last week and yesterday I took the Car for a handwash. It still feels a little bit gritty due to tree sap and I'll probably have to get a special real hand car wash to get rid of the schmootz. I have one of those purple flowering trees in front of my house (the name escapes me), occassionally we'll park under the tree and that sap gets all over it and it really is disgusting. I think we need to make a concious effort to move up just a little bit and not park directly under the sap dripping plant! But damn it sure looks purdy having sparkly cars in the drive way.

  1. I don't think I've washed my car in over 6 months. I park under a tree so it's almost pointless.
